hey whatsup hello and welcome to another video with me Chloe and today to make some changes to my website and while I do that I wants to an under-construction page up so no one sees it kind of like is this messy work in progress and so I thought I would show you how you can do the same as head over to the navigation bar on the left had done to your second and then understand password protected

you can I put in a password so that you can access the site and anyone else that you might want to visit the site while it’s still under construction that can see but nobody else can access once you’ve done that hit save awesome so now you see that your site is hidden and only users with the password can see it but we also want to take another step if somebody does lines on our website we want to make sure that we’re at least giving them some direction are letting them know what’s going on so we don’t want to tear them from visiting in the future or losing a potential lead so to do that you want to come out of your settings back to home and then head back to design and know if you had done to lock screen

you will see that you’re given a number of under construction Pages you can change the lives I’ve already customized this one and I’m going to show you how I did that and but you can select a number of different options that you can again customize customize that you can just follow the media and stale so you can make your own and put in your own Brandon and send a message to live people do come on your page they know what’s going on so I fit hey dang it’s that awkward under construction I’m sorry I’m in the process of making out of their experience for youth in the garden and text I did the messages that has like the body

I came to media and I didn’t add anything as a background but you can add you can get creative and add a video or I guess or just however you say it I’m just add a little bit more personality if you want to you can adjust the sails so you can add your own fonts and body and all that good stuff to make it your own and that way if anybody does visit your house under construction you’re not losing that the interweb you’re able to still have a conversation and encourage them and let them know what to do next. if you haven’t done so already put the under-construction link in the settings menu to access plugins options the status indicator in the toolbar in the main option and Decatur see under construction mode is enabled or not enable it by clicking on the indicator will turn green

next step is to choose the design choose anyone you like and head over to the content tab

although the default content is great for most uses you might want to tweak it and said a few links to your social media profiles that’s it you’re done don’t forget to click save changes

if you open your side expecting to see the under-construction page you’ll be surprised at the normal site is still visible that’s because you the admin are by default whitelisted so you can work on the site while other visitors see only the under-construction page a friendly note in the upper left corner of the side will remind you of this

if you want to preview the under-construction page head back to options and click preview if you don’t like being whitelisted open the access app and then check administrator from the whitelisted user roles with don’t forget to crush a changes
