Not compatible with Gutenberg The author does not update the plugin or answer questions on support.
Avoid this plugin at all cost if you don’t want to lose time with your projects.
Causing CLS Issue This plugin causing google CLS issue. Just check before and after installation for your website. I wasted lot of time investigating this. SHIT!!!!
Unfriendly Unclear, unfriendly. It’s a simple task, should be simple to use such a plugin.
Awesome plugin Very easy to use. Nice and very good work. Perfect
Minimal and best! I have been a long-time user of this plugin. I have tried almost all TOC plugins in the WP repo, including a paid third-party one.
And trust me, TOC+ by Michael is the best if you just need to output TOC on the front-end. It comes with just the right amount of options and these are the only options I believe actually matter with TOCs.
The plugin may be old, not that frequently updated, but then again, there’s no need to fix something that’s not broken. It works great with the latest WP versions including 5.6.1 and the developer even tested it with 5.7 Beta, so compatibility isn’t an issue.
I saw some support threads and reviews about this plugin causing CLS issues. IMO, this will be caused by ANY TOC plugin if you choose to hide the TOC initially. The functionality is achieved through JS, and the TOC will be visible for a short span until the browser can render the JS, and only then it will be hidden.
If you’re experiencing major CLS issues, I will tell you that it’s not the plugin that needs fixing. No offense, but you might want to reevaluate your optimization strategy for your website(s) and prioritize resource loading especially for above-the-fold content.
I am telling you this by first-hand experience, and that’s exactly what I did to minimize CLS.
Yes, minor shifts will still exist. But that’s nothing to fret upon and won’t be flagged.
Anyways, a huge thanks to Michael for coming up with TOC+, and making it open source. The only thing I would need with this plugin in the future is Gutenberg-compatibility.
Old but still perfect! We have a saying… “Don’t fix what isn’t broken”
This rings true with Table of Contents Plus. It may be old, but still works like a charm!
Working fine with the latest version of WP with Divi and many other plugins.

Great plugin but please ++++ Please,
continue the support of this wonderful plugin!!!
Also:
1) Add the ability to change the color of the text in the numbers of the table of contents (without changing the text of the heading).
EXAMPLE: Table of content:
Numbers: green color, headings: orange color.
2) Approve the italian translation (it’s 100% complete now).
Thanks ^^
Great. better than paid Great.
Elegant Collapsible TOC on PC and on Mobile Devices I discovered Table of Contents Plus only recently. I tested it as well as a few other similar plugins. This was the one that best suited my requirements. I chose to insert the table of content code manually on every page of my site where I wanted it, rather than opt for the automatic insertion on every qualifying page. I am very satisfied with it. And it works correctly when viewing my site from a PC or from a mobile device. Thank you!
