WordPress bundle PublishPress Future: Automatically Unpublish Posts and Pages on a Future Date

welcome everyone this is Christopher with inmotion hosting and today’s video I’m going to show you how you can set an expiration date on posts and WordPress now first why would you want to do this if you have any time sensitive information in a post on your site you will not want it sitting there forever

because out of date information makes your site looks cheap and can lead people astray and makes your website look like a ghost town basically just let me demonstrate here I have a post called hosting seminar to this post has out of date information you see this seminar was in March and I’m recording this in September so this makes my sight look cheap and makes me look like an amateur and I don’t want that so I’m going to do is pretend that I said an expiration date on this post let’s say we said the expiration of this post 211 on the night of the event that way it’ll be unpublished before midnight the next day soon learn to do this just make sure you’re logged in to your WordPress dashboard

and let’s install the post aspirator plug-in because we can code something like this for ourselves especially if we have a developer on staff but there’s no need because someone is already created an ice plug in for this

the click on plugins

click Avenue

let’s search for post expiration

alright let’s click install now

and activate

now let’s go to our old post by clicking on post

and there it is hosting seminar

and we set an expiration by scrolling down here an hour edit window

and see here we have a a box for post expediter check the enable post expiration here and let’s set the date notice was in March so we’re going to go back in time

March 9th and we wanted it for a 11 so that’ll be the 23rd hour

and 0 is fine but minutes

and what do you want to do with it after it’s expired you see here you can save it to a draft or trash it I’m going to save it as a draft because if there’s going to be another hosting seminar I can just use that same post and change the dates

to scroll back up and click update

Casino the status of the post has been changed to draft if we cook on all posts
