and even smart WP and today I’m going to show you how to add Google analytics to WordPress site if you don’t have a Google analytics account already I’m also going to show you how to do that and plus we’re going to be using a free plugin to integrate with your bright side it’s really simple so I just hopped right in so guarded log into a WordPress site as you can see in the top left I’ll just head over to our dashboard I’m going to add a new plug in so we’ll go to plugins add new and the plug-in already using is called g a n w p now there are a lot of plugins that you can use for Google analytics on your WordPress site a lot of them try to up-sell you on features you don’t need I especially like this gawp because it’s free and it shows you your reporting on your dashboard so you don’t have to leave your dashboard once with everything set up so let’s activate and install this plugin

are activating it

I’ll head over to the settings now as you can see here it’s pretty simple the amount of options here you can do a setup mode tracking and Reporting tracking and reporting of course we’ll add tracking to your site and show you the recording on the site but if you just want to add tracking and you don’t care about the actual reporting on your side you can put it on tracking only mode and just put in your tracking ID and save your settings and it’ll do everything for you if you don’t know your tracking ID will show you that later in the video before this tutorial we’re going to be doing tracking and Reporting so let’s first set up a Google analytics account. The first thing you want to do is go to analytics talk google.com

now we already have an account set up so you probably won’t be greeted with this so we’re going to go head over to admin and then were going to create a new account now we’re going to call account smart WP Dev you can also call it my domains my my websites and like that I recommend opting out of all of Google features

know what next and then this is just for the web so we’ll do that

and now we’re going to add our property so we’re going to add smart to BP Dev

our site at http

I will put it in the domain name or website you can put your industry in here that used your industry to kind of give you a gauge of how you’re doing in your category I really don’t like that Google does this so I kind of just usually picking other and of course you’re going to pick your time zone we’re in New York Times on here I’m going to trade and then we’ll accept the terms of service

so now we have a property set up in Google analytics and then have the tracking ID that I mentioned earlier so if you already have an account and you can just put that tracking ID in the tracking only mode and it will be working just as you expect but we won’t reporting and tracking so it’s whatever back to our dashboard and we’re going to hit authorized plug in to see you here we have to click get access code to get the access code to log into our account and will hit allow and then you can see here we have our API code so I will copy this

I will head over back to your dashboard and will pay sit in

and now you can see how smart you can see death all of our settings are here and everything’s looking correct so what did actually just did was connect Google analytics API to the plug-in and that allows the plug in to show you the reporting now that’s why in the tracking only mode it was only asking for your ID but for the reporting you have to have that a two-way connection so that’s what we just did there and we’re actually all done now so now all of your visitors and Page views of attracting in Google analytics but if you see on our dashboard now we actually have a new widget here for Google it looks so we can bring them to the top

and after a couple days will have the data showing up there and visitors hitting the site and you don’t ever have to leave the dashboard to see your reporting is especially great if you have clients who don’t really want to login to analytics and they just want to see everything in the work site and that’s it real done and hope this video was helpful remember to like And subscribe and thanks again for watching say
